Anytime St Kilda (Rob Stoiljkovic - SUICIDE SURVIVOR)

Story

Hi there,

My Name is Rob and I am the Club Manager of Anytime Fitness St Kilda. I am a proud father to my children, a supportive partner to my fiance, I am also a loving son, brother and uncle. I am also an Army Veteran, but what you may not know about me unless I told you is that I myself am a  SUICIDE SURVIVOR and I have battled depression and other mental illnesses for many years. It is because of these reasons I am proud to be representing Anytime Fitness and participating in Tread Together, a 24 hour treadmill challenge in support of Suicide Prevention Australia (SPA) in order to raise much-needed awareness of suicide, and funds towards its prevention.

Suicide is Australia's number killer among young Australian's and it kills over 3,000 lives per year. That's roughly 8 per day and 75% of those are young males aged 15-44 years, but the positive thing is this can all be prevented with your help.

I’m also doing this as I want to make a difference and I want to help those who are afraid to speak up and those who are doing it tough. I want them to know that they are loved and valued. For me personally I have a closer connection with suicides among serving and ex-serving ADF Members having served in the military myself and between 2001 - 2015 there were 325 certified suicide deaths among those who served in the ADF, that's roughly 2 suicides per month. Having worn the same uniform as them and also almost being one of those statistics myself is why I have created my very own Tread Together fundraising page and I am taking part in the challenge myself.

During last year's STEP UP AND RUN 24 Hour Tread Mill Challenge I personally did the entire 24 hours straight through and raised over $3,000 towards Suicide Prevention. This year once again I will be taking part in the challenge and completing the full 24 hours, however I will be treading across 2 States (Victoria & NSW) and visiting 12 Anytime Fitness gyms (VIC - Armadale, Berwick, Cranbourne, Pakenham, St Kilda / NSW - Illawong, Fairfield West, Wetherill Park, Dee Why, Brookvale, Manly AND Finishing at LANE COVE @ Anytime Fitness Australia HQ).

So I am reaching out to you all to get behind the cause and support my journey and I would love for 12 individual businesses or organisations to show their support and get on board by sponsoring me at each leg of my trip across the 2 states inside the 24 hours. Anyone else can also donate or better yet register to do the challenge yourself at Anytime Fitness St Kilda or any of our gyms across Australia.

Through this page, you can easily support my efforts by making a secure donation. I’d also really appreciate it if you could share my page using the above link, or comment below, so that more people know about it.
